[ With the New Feather cycle still going, one might mistake the woman sitting against the fountain this afternoon in the pouring rain for a newcomer. Certainly the white dress she's discarded next to her would indicate such. But Saten's not new, just fresh back from her Mallynapping.

Initially, she doesn't have the energy to make her way even to the clothes shop. So for a good hour or two, she sits naked in the rain next to the fountain. Finally she manages to get to her feet and goes to the clothes shop, where she picks up something appropriately not white. Then she heads to CH7, where she's not quite ready to make her way up seven flights of stairs on foot. Instead she spends the rest of the day sitting against the building, because hey, she's already soaked. Once the sun goes down, she uses the darkness to slip up to her room.

... At least it's not too cold out? ]

[She isn't the only one out and about in the driving rain. Saori is out wandering and enjoying the weather that, for once, she didn't conjure. When the storm god notices a woman sitting by the fountain she approaches, unbothered by the others nudity. When she approaches, the rain simply stops landing on either of them, sliding around them in a strange way.]

Nice weather we're having. Are you alright?

[ Saten looks up with narrowed eyes, studying the woman. Being so weak has her slightly more on edge than she'd normally be. The odd behavior of the rain isn't helping her suspicions. ]

What are you doing?

Speaking to a naked stranger caught in a beautiful rainstorm.

[She shrugs, rubbing her cheek thoughtfully]

And keeping the rain off you, so you don't catch a chill.

I'm not going to catch anything.

[ She almost sounds offended by the very suggestion. ]

Would you prefer the rain then? Very well.

[Saori takes a seat on the edge of the fountain, and shifts her hold, letting the rain resume over the other.]

May I ask your name, stranger?

[ She didn't say that. Not that she's going to complain, because really, in the massive amount of grievances Saten has with the world, being rained on is pretty low on there.

She keeps an eye on the woman the whole time, still far from letting her suspicions go. At the question, she sits up a little bit straighter. ]

I'm Saten. What are you?

[ Not "who". "Who" is less relevant to her right now. ]

[Well, sarcasm gets you nothing but rain with this one, sadly]

I am many things, Saten. A traveler, a musician, an artist. Though I suppose you want to know the whole of me?

[Her eyes gloss over the other woman, taking her measure. Not normal at all.]

[ A god. Not as a title, but a description. The word from which Yuhel derived the name he uses. Though it's use is different, the word itself is caught up in too many unpleasant associations for Saten to hide the dark look that passes across her face at the sound of it.

Storms, though. That seems like a strange thing for there to be a specific creator for. It's oddly constrained. ]

Darkness. But people call me many more things than that.

[Saori notes that dark look, and shakes her head, smiling at the ground and kicking her feet.]

I surmise you are not on good terms with the gods of light, then? Or are you one of those unfortunates from a world with only one? In my world, every aspect of reality has a god. Its...different...I think than what you may be used to.

[ She practically spits the words. No, she doesn't like dwelling on her relationship with Yuhel. ]

I refuse to indulge him taking for himself what was rightfully both of ours.

No, I suspect not. I'm not a god of light, or a god of darkness. Nature doesn't care for such trivialities.

[She gives Saten an odd look.]

I'm sorry if I've offended you, Miss. And that you've suffered a loss.

She looked up at the man and gave a small scoff, but she was visibly tenser than she'd been a few moments ago.

"Just wonderful."

The sarcasm was practically thick enough to taste.

[ She's not in an agreeable mood today... ]

You mistake me for one who offers pity.

[Saori shifts on her perch, giving the other an odd look]

I am just here, talking to a gruff stranger in the rain, because its a nice day. Not because I pity you.

[ And here Helios will be walking back from the library, through the rain, when he sees Saten standing outside the Community Building. There's no rain hitting his person as he walks closer, so his concerned expression is clearly visible.

The darkness on his soul might also be visible to Saten as well. Along with a blessing from another goddess of this place, Saori. It almost makes him look like he's glowing. ] Ah e-excuse me, miss? A-Are you alright?

But she took the garment anyway, and after giving it a quick look over, draped it over her shoulders.

[ Saten looks up as he approaches, suddenly acutely aware of the stranger's presence. She's never felt a darkened soul before, so it registers as something strange. She can feel the shadow he's carrying that somehow has no discernible origin. The light isn't anything she can pick up on, except to dull the darkness. It's altogether entirely unfamiliar.

She's so distracted that she doesn't even register his question. Instead she's fixed on him with a questioning look, trying to figure out just what his deal is. ]

[ Saten looks up, somewhat on edge and distinctly not pleased. ]

Not in particular.

[ Though at this point she wouldn't object if it were offered, but like hell she's going to admit to that. ]

Well. I could get you another coat? Or. Pants. Or a shirt or something from the clothing store?

Unless you just like being naked? I mean. Not to offend you with offering, but. You know. It's raining and all. And there are people here. So being naked is kind of... bad.

[ The apology doesn't improve her mood, and Saten continues to eye Saori irritably. ]

No. I don't need to eat.
