Dec. 22nd, 2012 02:19 am[ It's well into the night when the entry is posted. The changing of the length of light and darkness in the day is far more pronounced here than in her own world. Startlingly so, actually. And having only been here less than two full years, Saten hasn't yet fully established the nature of the cycle in this world. But with the night halfway over, even without access to her usual connection, she can tell that the nights will be shortening again.
Not like she was expecting this place to observe the holidays of her world, but this is the second time she's done what little she does for celebration on this night by her lonesome.
Part of which might have involved trying to take a lit match to an elf. ]
I see whatever this Christmas mess is is ridiculously extravagant. I don't want to hear it if that's what you want to talk about.
Do any other worlds out there have celebrations for the Longest Night?
[ She heard Loki's announcement about the solstice earlier, but he phrased that as welcoming back the sun which is distinctly not the same thing, thank you very much. ]
